Stone chapels and wayside shrines
Wayside shrines and chapels in natural stone: a pedestal, a niche for an icon or a figure, a stone roof and a cross. First the drawing, then the stone.

What a wayside shrine consists of
A pedestal, an arched niche for an icon or a figure, a gabled roof and a cross on top. Proportions and height are chosen for the place: church grounds, a crossroads, the entrance to a village.
What this page shows
The shrine here is a design visualisation, not a photograph of completed work. The photograph under “Completed work” shows a piece made by the workshop: a canopy over a well, with columns and a dome, in the grounds of a church.

ViewFrequently asked questions
How do I order a wayside shrine or a chapel?
Send photos of the space, measurements, drawings (if you have them), reference images and a short description of what is needed. We then clarify the brief and prepare drawings.
Do you make drawings before production?
Yes. The design is worked out on paper first: elevation, section, profile. Production starts after the drawing is approved.
Do you carry out installation?
Yes. The work includes design, production in the workshop and installation in the church. Projects outside Ukraine are discussed individually.
Where is the workshop and how do I get in touch?
The workshop is at 89b Lvivska St, Lutsk, Ukraine. Phone +380 66 892 98 18, daily 09:00–20:00 (Kyiv time); email ikonastone@gmail.com.
